In the 1900’s Mark Twain declared Hawaii to be the loveliest fleet of islands that lies anchored in any ocean. Without a doubt he is correct, Hawaii is the volcanic and oceanic paradise of the seven seas.

Hawaii is located in the Pacific Ocean and is apart of the United States of America, don’t be confused though, Hawaii is nothing like the mainland of America. From fiery volcano of Mauna Loa to the sparkling oceanic waters of the Pacific, Hawaii even with the mass tourism is still an untouched beauty of the world.

Hawaii’s main tourist season is during the winter season (December to February) although the temperature is still pleasant and you won’t feel cold at all. If you like to ride on your board you will find that winter has the best waves while if you want to consider wind surfing summer will be the best time.

If you want to get action with the locals, traveling when major events like the Hula, Pro Bowls and Rodeo’s. Perhaps you prefer a quieter holiday then you should take some of the many trails and some long walks on the beach just dreaming about the endless paradise in front of you. There are many Humpback whales that drift off the coast of Lahania. Be amazed with countless waterfalls in Hairpin turns. It is an endless journey.

Hawaii consists of six islands, the biggest and the most time you will be spending in is Maui. Maui has a wide range of activities that you and your friends or family are bound to love.

Snorkel in Kapalua beach and meet some of the most exotic sea creatures you will ever meet.

Take a visit to Waianapanapa and watch black sandy beaches with spectacular underground pools.

Go on an unforeseen whale watching tour off the coast.

Shop for some traditional Hawaiian clothes and souvenirs.

Take a walk through old and historic Lahainia town and gasp your breath at United State’s largest Banyan tree.

Traveling on Maui is simple. Shuttle, tour bus, taxi will be your main choices to move around, though if you want to maximize your enjoyment, it is recommended that renting car should be done.

You are going to be astounded by the beauties of Hawaii. It’s going to be an adventure you will never forget!

Kauai is Hawaii’s westernmost and the oldest island. A paradise on Earth, it has magnificent cliffs and amazing golden beaches. With growing rain forests and constant rainbows, it would not be wrong to call this plan an unadulterated bliss. You can either opt for a road trip or a boat trip to explore the beauty of the island. The umpteen number of exotic resorts and well-known beaches offer adventurous yet pleasurable activities like fishing, horseback riding, hiking galore and golfing that will surely make this Kauai trip a memorable one for its visitors.

Also known to be the romantic garden island of Hawaii, it is a great escape to unwind oneself away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Na Pali Coast is a beautiful destination of the island. Because of constant rainfall and steep cliffs, Na Pali Coast can be viewed either in air by a helicopter or by water via cruise or boat. Grand Canyon of the Pacific is another attractive destination in Kauai that cannot be missed. Famous for its lush, green vegetation along with huge rainfalls, the flora found here is quite unique.

A conventional destination, Kauai can be arrived via flights that frequent it on a regular basis from West coast. This exclusive island is undoubtedly worth a trip.

Wai Ola Vacation Paradise on Maui
Wai Ola was voted 2008 Travellers Choice for Best Romantic Hotel in the United States and Best in Value for the state of Hawaii. This ‘hotel’ is actually a house for rent, and a gorgeous one at that. Located only 2 blocks from the ocean, this is a great destination spot for lovers looking for a getaway that is not only reasonably priced (at an average price of only $147 a night), but will give you easy access to the beautiful ocean surrounding the island of Maui. Shopping and some of the best restaurants on Maui are within walking distance from the residence, providing even more reason you should spend your vacation nights here.
http://waiola.com/

Aloha Pualani Hotel Boutique
Another 2008 Travellers Choice for Best for Romance, Aloha Pualani also is considered a Best Hidden Gem in the United States.

Hamakua Coast used to be a thriving area for the sugar cane industry. Now, its sights have been left over for sightseers and tourists alike to explore its natural wonder and beauty. To access this area, you will want to start out from Hilo and travel down Highway 19, where you can experience the sights of this magnificent area.

Traveling down Highway 19, you will literally be hugging the old railway tracks that used to haul the tons of sugar cane produced in the Hamakua Coast. The ocean views here are absolutely breathtaking. The shoreline is made up of cliffs that drop from a considerable height. Several streams of water flow into the ocean, creating a myriad of small waterfalls littering the cliffs.

Along the Hamakua Coast, you will be persuaded by the natural splendor of the area to stop at many of the tourist destinations along the way. The town of Honokaa offers its visitors a real taste of a plantation town of the 1920s. The popular destination of Akaka Falls State Park is an option. Here you will be treated to 2 giant waterfalls, both reaching over 400 feet in height. At Onomea Bay is where you will be treated to the Hawaiin Tropical Botanical Gardens. This 40 acre garden is home to over 1,800 species of plants and flowers.

The many bridges that cross rivers and streams are excellent opportunities to take photos. Many are built very close to natural waterfalls, creating splendor to any family portrait you want to take back home.

eaching the end of the road, you will meet Wapio Valley. This is a place soaked in Hawaiian culture and history. Some of the mountain and cliff walls facing the valley reach over 1 mile tall. It is here where 40,000 Hawaiians used to live, and where many of the Hawaiian royalty are buried. This is an excellent destination point for any travel along the Hamakua Coast.

It is the morning mist caressing the forests of towering bamboos, an energetic market place of exotic fragrances and languages of a number of nations, the exquisite cuisines of the world, the ancient culture thriving in the modern period, the paradise.

Hawaii is the archipelago of eight major islands: Nihau, Oahu, Kauai, Lanai, Molokai, Kahoolawe, Maui and Hawaii, and some small islets. Nihau, also known as the forbidden island, is the smallest among the seven inhabited islands of Hawaii and is a mysterious place for the outsiders.

Nihau is the island which accommodates the only natural lake on the Hawaii Islands, the Lake Halulu. It is located at the most north-western part of the Hawaiian islands, beyond Kauai. For more than hundred years, the access to Nihau has been limited to the Hawaiian families, who work on their sheep ranches and privately owned cattle.

It is a privately owned island of the Robinson family of the Kauai since 1864, and access is only limited to local families who work and live there and the relatives of these people. Tourists are also able to visit Nihau by way of limited supervised tours including hiking, hunting safaris and diving.

Those who are very curious to see humpback whales must formulate trip to visit Maui. Though whales visit each and every island in Hawaii but the finest view that one can get is from an island known as Maui.

Maui is one of the most popular islands in Hawaii because of the natural shelter that formed by means of island’s shape. Hence, this is actually a place where humpback whales like to visit in order to feel protected as well as safe. In addition to this the Maui’s water is very petty and this is another reason why whales prefer to stay specifically after giving birth to their babies.

At the time of whale season in Maui many events takes place thus the whole island at this occasion erupts with joy as well as enthusiasm over the yearly pilgrimage. There are many tour companies set up in order to take the tourists out to make them having a glimpse over the whales.

And if the tourists somehow or for whatever reason fails to see whales then they are given another tour that too free. Around sixty percent of the 15000 humpback whales living in North Pacific take a voyage to Hawaii, out of which majority of whales are seen around Maui.

If you are looking for one of the most breathtaking moments for a vacation in Hawaii, look no further than the Akaka Falls in Akaka Falls State Park. Located on the “big island,” the 442 foot waterfall is sure to be a highlight of any vacation in Hawaii.

You will want to bring your camera with you on this trek. To gain access to view the waterfall, you will hike .4 miles to reach the Akaka Fall. This hike should take approximately 30 minutes as you walk through the beautiful jungle that surrounds the trail. On your way, you will see beautiful flowers, other plant life and get a glimpse into the animal life, as well. Apart from the main waterfall, there is a lesser fall, Kahuna Falls, that you have the option of viewing. While being “lesser,” it is still impressive at 400 feet tall.

Reaching Akaka Falls, you will immediately be impressed by its sheer size and beauty. Akaka is a Hawaiian word for a “cut, crack, or split,” an appropriate name as the waterfall flows through just that. As the water meets the edge, it plunges 442 feet down a moss-laden cliff edge. At the bottom is a pool of water that seems to be sunk into the ground comparing the geography of it with its surroundings. Don’t worry about getting your camera wet here, though. The best places to photograph are well away from the splash zone.

Even after your sightseeing of the falls is finished, there is still plenty to do. Surrounding the parking lot are shops and stands selling many souvenirs, many authentic, for which you can bring home as gifts. Enjoy your stay at Akaka Falls State Park, one of the natural wonders on the Big Island of Hawaii.

The House of the Sun, or Haleakala as the Hawaiians know it as, is an area formed by years upon years of tumultuous volcanic activity. At Haleakala National Park, you can experience this first hand as you trek through the mountains, valleys, and volcanic craters left behind.

Located upon the Hawaiian island of Maui, this is a sure destination for anyone looking to experience what the past has done to the land surrounding us. Haleakala National Park is extremely large, taking up over 28,000 acres of land mass, and splitting up into 3 different areas.

At the summit area, you will be awed by the sight of a cinder-like desert. Here you can hike among the valley of the desert, or take your time to spot rare birds amongst the shrubbery. At Haleakala National Park, they have a very proactive program to take care and protect endangered species, especially among the bird populations. Take this time to grab what may be a once in a life time photo opportunity. Stick around at night, and see the bright night sky away from the city lights.

The wilderness area is one that will be a photographer’s dream. The steep changes in altitude provide for many mini-environments. This creates a very diverse selection of plants and animals for your viewing pleasure. To really grasp a hold of what is surrounding you here, you can reserve a historical cabin to spend a night or two in.

Kipahulu, or the coastal area of Haleakala is a gem among stones. You can set up a hike yourself, or be guided by one of the many well informed park guides. You can also learn of the natives that still inhabit this land, rumored to have lived there for over 1000 years. Take Pipiwai trail for 2 miles and be rewarded with a bath in the cool natural pool at the end of it. For those looking for ocean life, from the cliff edges many will see dolphins swimming gracefully through the sea.

For any tourist looking for some of the best sightseeing locations in Maui, Haleakala State Park will not disappoint.
