The reason for this is because if any animal is exposed to rabies – the entire state could become infected, so it is absolutely important that you make sure that your animals are vaccinated before you get on the plane with your dog.

All pet owners should plan months in advance if you wish to bring your pet along – as you will have to apply for it and provide the correct documentation.

One of the first things that you need to do is do your research on hotels. Some hotels are extremely dog friendly, but other hotels are not and you just want to make sure that you make a reservation at a hotel that will take your pooch as well as you!

In the next blog, we are going to talk about some of the laws in Hawaii that you are going to have to know before bringing your dog.

In Hawaii – by far one of my favorite past times is looking for Green Sea Turtles. Did you know that Hawaii is actually one of the few places for you to see these giant turtles? Not only are they beautiful but the turtles themselves are extremely rare and when you are close and looking at something that is rare and beautiful – it is a once in a lifetime experience.

Right now – it seems that the Green Sea Turtle as well as the Hawksbill Sea Turtle are both on the endangered species list and while it might be rare to catch a look at either of these, Hawaii would be the place to do it. What you might not know is that a Green Sea Turtle can weight upwards of 400 pounds and a Hawksbill about 270.

Both of these turtles are absolutely breathtakingly beautiful an they are certainly a sight that should be seen in your lifetime!

So really, honestly, everyone knows about Maui and everyone loves Maui but how much do you really know about this amazing island? Probably not a whole lot to be honest as most people just go on vacation without any research! Well folks, this incredible island is just that, incredible and certainly worth a second glance! For example, did you know that you can spend a whole day just shopping, sight seeing, going to museums and going out to eat in Maui?

Also, Maui is one of the greatest songs for children! Not only can you play on all of the beaches in the area but you can also take a scenic drive up the fifty-three mile Hana highway or snap a few pictures of the amazing Iao Needle which is placed in the Iao Valley. Maui is also the greatest place to see humpback whales, seeing one of these amazing creatures in action is honestly a once in a lifetime experience.

So as you can see, Maui is definitely one of the best islands that you can take a vacation on, especially if you have children!

The Hawaiian Islands are a group of islands that stretches over 1500 miles. It was once known as the Sandwich Islands, in an attempt to honor the Earl of Sandwich, when Captain James Cook discovered the islands in 1778.

Together, there are a total of 132 islands, 8 of those being the “main islands,” while the rest are rather small and mostly uninhabited. Those 8 main Hawaiian Islands are:

•	Hawaii (Also known as the Big Island)
•	Maui
•	Kahoolawe
•	Lanai
•	Molokai
•	Oahu
•	Kauai
•	Nihau

The Hawaiian Islands were formed millions of years ago. Underwater volcanic and tectonic plate activity saw the rise of new landmasses. Today, on the island of Lanai, volcanic magma flow adds new land everyday when the magma reaches the ocean and is hardened by the cooling of it.

The climate in Hawaii is separated by only 2 seasons. From May and October, summer is present, while the remaining months are known as “winter.” With a subtropical climate and an average temperature no greater that 77 degrees F, Hawaii is a great destination any time of the year for tourists. June through November can see hurricanes, so make sure you plan your vacation carefully.

Hawaii is home to some of the largest endangered animal populations in the world. One third of the United States endangered species are located in Hawaii. The Nene Goose, Humpback Whale, the Pacific Green Sea Turtle and the Pueo are all endangered species heavily protected by Hawaii, with the Nene Goose and Humpback being official state animals.

The population of Hawaii is the more diverse than any other populous in the United States. With a population of over 1.3 million, over 20% of that is Native Hawaiian. A strong influence from Japanese, Filipino, Chinese, and Samoan populations are ever present.
